Michael Flatley creador de "Lord of the dance", es un bailarín flautista y coreógrafo irlandés-estadounidense, que ha alcanzado el éxito internacional gracias a espectáculos como "Riverdance", "Lord of the Dance" o "Celtic Tiger". Nació entre la comunidad irlandesa del South Side de Chicago y, ya en 1975 se convirtió en el primer no europeo en ganar el campeonato de Danza Irlandesa. Entre 1978 y 1979 formó parte de la compañía Green Fields of América. Born into the Irish community of Chicago's South Side, he became the first non-European to win the Irish Dance Championship back in 1975.
